Clinical Nurse Specialist - Colorectal Surgery
Position: Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Salary: $86,783.00 - $108,479.00 per annum (Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy)
Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week
Status: Permanent full-time
The Colorectal Program, a collaboration of inter-professional team members, is recruiting for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

Through the provision of advanced nursing practice, the CNS will work in collaboration with an inter-professional team to facilitate and expedite the referral and care of patients. The CNS functions in an expanded role demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill. The CNS will triage new patients referred to the program in collaboration with the team; conducts health histories and physical examinations; and arranges further diagnostic work-up, as required.
On-going psycho-social support and education is provided throughout the diagnostic process and patient’s journey, with the ultimate goal of care being transitioned to the patient’s primary physician. A key role for this will be creating and providing education and support to primary healthcare providers as well as patients and their families.
The CNS will work in a leadership role to collaborate in the development and implementation of strategic and operational goals and objectives for the Colorectal Surgery Program. Other responsibilities include performing research activities; delivering, coordinating and participating in education and professional development activities/programs; and performing activities to further develop and strengthen the nursing profession.
Qualifications:
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
